Carver County is located southwest of Minneapolis and St. Paul, the “Twin Cities,” and is a 25 to 30 minute drive from Minneapolis. As the state’s fastest growing county, it is the least populated of the seven metropolitan counties that comprise the Twin Cities. The county is picturesque with bluffs on the Minnesota River, rolling hills, pastoral farmland and lakes dotting the region. According to the U.S. Census, Carver County is the most highly-educated county in Minnesota and the 30th wealthiest county in the nation. “County Health Rankings & Roadmaps” named Carver the healthiest county in the state based on a variety of factors including length of life, physical activity, clinical care and more.
Our school district covers the eastern portion of Carver County that includes the cities of Chanhassen, Chaska, Victoria and Carver. We serve approximately 9,300 students and 1,300 staff, and our growing resident population is roughly 60,000. In 2008 we transitioned our title from District 112 to Eastern Carver County Schools. We offer 3 high schools, 3 middle schools, an Early Childhood Family Learning Center and 8 elementary schools, including a Spanish immersion elementary program.
